Gate valve is a common fluid control valve, which is mainly composed of body, wedge, stem, etc., and controls the flow of medium by adjusting the opening degree of wedge. Generally speaking, it has four types of connections.

Gate valve is a common fluid control valve, which is mainly composed of body, wedge, stem, etc., and controls the flow of medium by adjusting the opening degree of wedge. Generally speaking, its connection methods are mainly as follows:

一、Flange connection

The flange connection is the most common type of gate valve connection, its body and flange are fastened together by screws. The advantage of flange connection is that it is easy to install and disassemble, can be reused, and is firmly connected to the pipeline, not easy to leak. Flanged gate valves are suitable for scenarios where pipeline connections are more frequent or where valves need to be replaced frequently. However, the disadvantages are also obvious, the need to increase the flange and screws, resulting in increased costs and relatively long installation time.

      二、Threaded connection

The threaded connection is suitable for small diameter gate valve connection. During installation, the valve body needs to be fitted to the threaded portion of the pipe and coated with thread sealant to ensure a tight connection. The threaded connection is suitable for small gate valves and low pressure applications. The advantage is simple and quick installation for low pressure, small diameter and smaller size gate valves.

       三、Clamp connection

The clamp connection is a convenient gate valve connection for small gate valves and lower pressure applications. It connects the valve body to the pipeline by means of a clamp. During installation, the clamp is applied to the outside of the valve body and piping, and bolts are used to clamp them together. The clamp connection is suitable for temporary installation or where frequent disassembly is required

 四、Welded connection

The welded connection is a commonly used connection method for high pressure gate valves. It is to weld the gate valve directly to the pipeline to form an integration, which is suitable for pipelines with large diameters. The advantage is that the connection is firm, tight, not easy to leak, but the disadvantages are also significant, the installation is difficult, maintenance is difficult, and once the welding is completed, it is impossible to disassemble or replace.

In short, each type of connection has its advantages and disadvantages, it needs to consider the use of occasions, pressure, media and other factors in the choice of connection.
