The H42X series flange bottom valve（foot valve） is a kind of energy-saving valve that it is installed at the beginning of pipeline. It is usually installed at the bottom of the pump suction pipe. It is a kind of one-way valve.

It is a kind of one-way valve, when the pump stops working, it restricts the medium in the pipeline to flow backward back to the medium storage place, so as to ensure that the pump does not appear to be idling and reversing, and to ensure that the pipeline system can be operated normally when it is turned on again.
The bottom valve is mainly composed of valve body, valve plate, valve seat, spring and filter net. The valve body and valve plate are generally cast. The valve seat is made of high quality rubber and the spring and screen are mostly made of stainless steel. The opening and closing of the bottom valve relies on the thrust and gravity of the medium in the pipeline. when the medium flows out under the action of external force its thrust can easily push open the bottom valve plate, the bottom valve will be opened. When the medium flow stops, the return gravity of the medium back to push the valve plate will be to the closed position, the bottom valve closed.
The primary function of the bottom valve is to prevent the backflow of the medium. In addition, since the bottom valve is equipped with a filter net, it also serves to clean the medium to a certain extent.
The H42X type flange bottom valve is reasonable in design, advanced in manufacturing process, and convenient in installation, use and maintenance. It also has the advantages of low frictional resistance, long service life and energy saving.
Because of the characteristics of the foot valve, the pipework fitted with the foot valve should first be filled with a suitable liquid in the pipework between the foot valve and the pump before the first pump start-up. this gives the pump enough suction to easily open the foot valve. when the pump is stopped, the liquid in the pump body cannot flow back into the original pool, but it is stored in the pump body, so there is no need to refill the pump with liquid the second time it is used.
Bottom valve is often used in the water supply system, sewage system, it is the last safety guarantee of the pipeline system, so it plays a very important role.
