What are the ways to increase the speed of action of pneumatic valves?

 

Here are some ways to increase the speed of pneumatic valve action:

Increase the pressure of the gas source: In the pressure range allowed by the pneumatic valve, increase the pressure of the gas source appropriately. According to the ideal gas equation of state and the principle of cylinder operation, higher pressure can make the cylinder piston to obtain greater thrust, thereby accelerating the opening and closing speed of the valve. However, it should be noted that the rated working pressure of the valve and related components should not be exceeded to avoid damage.

 

Increase cylinder size: Replace the cylinder with one with a larger bore or shorter stroke. Larger bore means that the force area of the piston increases, in the case of the same pressure of the gas source, can produce a greater force to promote the valve faster action; and shorten the stroke can reduce the distance of the piston movement, which in turn shortens the time required to open and close the valve.

 

Optimize the design of the gas circuit: try to shorten the length of the pneumatic pipeline, reduce unnecessary bends and joints, in order to reduce the resistance of the gas flow in the pipeline. At the same time, choose the appropriate inner diameter of the gas pipe to ensure adequate gas flow, so that the cylinder can be quickly filled and exhausted to improve the speed of valve action.

 

Installation of fast exhaust valve: Installation of fast exhaust valve at the exhaust port of the cylinder can make the gas in the cylinder not return to the gas source through a long gas line, but directly and quickly discharged to the atmosphere, greatly reducing the exhaust time of the cylinder, thus accelerating the closing speed of the valve, and for the improvement of the valve's response speed effect is remarkable.

 

Regular maintenance: keep the pneumatic valve and related parts clean, regularly check and replace worn seals, piston rings and other parts to prevent gas leakage affecting the speed of valve action. At the same time, appropriate lubrication of the cylinder, valve spindle and other parts to reduce mechanical friction, so that the valve can move more smoothly.
