One valve, three functions—Heavy- hammer type hydraulically controlled butterfly valve

The heavy- hammer hydraulically controlled butterfly valve is a novel product developed by our company in response to market demand, building upon the assimilation of domestic and international hydraulically controlled valve technologies. Combining the functions of a gate valve, check valve, and water hammer arrestor, it serves as a single valve replacing three, acting as an ideal control device. It can close in two stages according to a pre-set programme (first closing rapidly to a certain angle, then slowly closing the remaining angle) to suppress and eliminate the destructive effects of water hammer caused by the medium within the pipeline on the pipeline or pipeline equipment.

Purpose:
1. The valve body and disc are cast-formed, offering excellent strength and high rigidity; the disc adopts a truss design, minimising flow resistance and maximising water passage area; it exhibits favourable hydraulic characteristics with a low flow resistance coefficient (<0.2).
2. During an emergency power failure, the weight-operated mechanism stores energy, enabling the valve to close in two stages—rapidly followed by slowly—according to a pre-set programme, thereby safeguarding the pump unit.
Features:
This product primarily comprises the valve body, butterfly disc, valve shaft, transmission mechanism, and hydraulic and electrical control components.
1. The valve body and butterfly disc are cast for superior strength and rigidity; the butterfly disc adopts a frame structure for minimal flow resistance and a large water passage area, delivering excellent hydraulic characteristics with a low flow resistance coefficient (<0.2).
2. The valve shaft and disc are connected via a wedge pin, ensuring a secure and reliable joint. This design guarantees reliable valve operation under normal conditions while safeguarding the drive mechanism during exceptional circumstances.
3. The shaft end seal employs a combination of self-tightening and adjustable sealing elements, delivering superior sealing performance.
4. Bearings employ lead-free, self-lubricating types without oil supply, featuring high load-bearing capacity, excellent wear resistance, low friction resistance, and notably identical dynamic and static friction coefficients.
5. Two primary seal configurations are available:
Type 1: Stainless steel-to-stainless steel metal hard seal structure. The seal tightens progressively during valve closure, ensuring reliable sealing performance. Short friction travel between sealing surfaces prolongs seal pair service life. Second: Stainless steel-rubber soft seal configuration. The solid rubber seal ring may be mounted either on the valve body or the disc plate, ensuring a tight and reliable seal. After prolonged operation, the sealing pressure can be conveniently adjusted, and replacement is straightforward.
6. The operating mechanism employs a swing cylinder structure. The mechanical travel limit mechanism and electrical control system are integrated with the operating mechanism housing into an independent control unit, facilitating installation, commissioning, and maintenance.
7.Closing mechanism: Counterweight-operated; releasing the counterweight's potential energy fulfils valve opening/closing requirements.
8. Features comprehensive hydraulic and electrical control (PLC) systems, enabling both localised and remote operation.
9. Hydraulic and electrical control systems are installed separately from the valve body to prevent pipeline vibrations causing loosening or failure of hydraulic and electrical components.
