Introduction of Lug Type Butterfly Valve

Lug type butterfly valve is considered by the majority of users: good sealing performance, light operation, vice corrosion, high temperature resistance, easy to operate, flexible, safe and reliable use of butterfly valves, has been a large number of popularization and use.

 

一、A lug type butterfly valve is a commonly used type of valve with the following characteristics:

1、Structural characteristics: its butterfly plate is installed in the diameter direction of the pipeline. In the cylindrical channel of the butterfly valve body, the disc-shaped butterfly plate rotates around the axis, and the rotation angle is between 0°-90°, and the valve is fully open when rotated to 90°. It is a double-headed bolt to connect the valve between two pipe flanges, simple structure, small size, light weight, usually consists of a few parts.

2、Operation and fluid control characteristics: only need to rotate 90 ° can be quickly opened and closed, simple operation. Butterfly valve in the fully open position, the butterfly plate thickness is the only resistance of the medium flow through the valve body, so the pressure drop generated by the valve is very small, with better flow control characteristics.

3、Sealing type: there are two kinds of elastic seal and metal seal. The sealing ring of the elastic seal valve can be set on the valve body or attached to the butterfly plate periphery.

二、the lug butterfly valve structure features:

1、Simple and compact structure: usually consists of a few parts such as valve body, butterfly plate, valve seat, valve stem and transmission mechanism, easy to disassemble and install, conducive to maintenance.

2、Small size and light weight: easy to install and operate.

3、Eccentric structure design: mostly double eccentric or triple eccentric sealing structure, reducing the friction between the sealing ring and the valve body, prolonging the service life of the valve. (also available in centerline)

4、Good fluid control characteristics: butterfly valve in the fully open position, the butterfly plate thickness is the only resistance of the medium flow through the valve body, so the resulting pressure drop is very small, with good flow control characteristics.

5、A variety of sealing type: there are two kinds of soft seal (elastic seal) and hard seal. The sealing ring of the soft seal valve can be set on the valve body or attached to the periphery of the butterfly plate; the hard seal relies on metal or other hard materials for sealing.

6、Easy to operate: only need to rotate 90 ° can quickly open and close, simple operation and labor-saving.

7、Stem characteristics: the valve stem is generally a through-stem structure, after tempering treatment, has good overall mechanical properties, corrosion resistance and resistance to abrasion. When opening and closing the valve stem only for rotary movement without lifting operation, the packing is not easy to destroy, reliable sealing. The connection with the butterfly plate is usually fixed by taper pins, and the outstretched end is of anti-washout design, which can avoid the valve stem from crashing out when it is accidentally broken.

8、Drive form is rich: can be configured with manual, worm gear drive, electric, pneumatic, hydraulic, electro-hydraulic linkage actuators, in order to realize remote control and automation operation.

三、The lug type butterfly valve application areas

Wide range of applications: not only in the oil, gas, chemical, water treatment and other general industry is widely used, but also for cooling water system of thermal power plants; for sulfuric acid industry in the gas pipeline regulation and cut-off gas volume use, such as pre-furnace blower inlet/outlet, relay blower inlet/outlet, electric demisting tandem and linkage valves, main blower inlet/outlet of sulfur dioxide, converter regulation, Preheater inlet and outlet, etc.; used in sulfur acid system of sulfur incineration, conversion, dry suction section; also widely used in chemical, petrochemical, smelting, pharmaceutical, food and other industries, can be used in sulfur dioxide, steam, air, gas, ammonia, carbon dioxide gas, oil, water, brine, lye, seawater, nitric acid, hydrochloric acid, sulfuric acid, phosphoric acid, and other media on the pipeline as a regulator and cut-off device.

Lug type butterfly valve can be driven by manual, worm gear, pneumatic, electric, etc.; structural form of single eccentric, centerline, double eccentric, triple eccentric, etc.; the pressure range is generally PN0.1-10Mpa; the nominal diameter is usually DN40-2000mm; materials can be selected from cast steel, stainless steel and so on. Due to the wide range of valves, the same kind of valves in different occasions and working conditions have different combinations.
