Globe valve in actual production is mainly used for water, steam, compressed air and other pipeline control, but should not be applied to the viscosity of the material easy to crystallize.

Globe valve in use to determine the valve opening and closing status of the main way, is to observe the height of the valve stem exposed to the bonnet, in order to control the valve operation. Small globe valve stem threads located in the valve body, so more in use with the media contact time is longer, easy to be corroded by the media.
Globe valve's installation should refer to the direction of the fluid, pay attention to keep the pipeline fluid low into the high, that is, from the bottom up through the valve seat port. The purpose of such installation is to reduce the valve body fluid resistance and thus reduce the valve opening and closing force, but also to maintain the valve stem, packing box does not contact with the media when the valve is closed to reduce the occurrence of damage and leakage.
The advantages of globe valves are as follows：
1、Simple structure, relatively easy to manufacture and maintain.
2、Small working stroke, short opening and closing time.
3、Good sealing, small friction between sealing surfaces, long life.
The disadvantages of globe valves are as follows
1、Fluid resistance is large, the force required for opening and closing is large.
2、Not applicable to the medium with particles, viscosity, easy to coking.
3、Poor regulation performance.
The globe valve should be used with the following three points in mind:
1、Globe valves should be checked for leakage before opening to determine that the valve has no leakage and the stuffing box has no leakage.
2、The valve stem operation of the globe valve cannot be completed by hand, you can use a special spanner instead, but in the case of the spanner is still unable to open, do not use the extension spanner to force open and close, in order to avoid damage to the valve or even the occurrence of safety accidents.
3、The globe valve in the application of medium-pressure steam pipeline, in the opening before the need for condensate removal, followed by steam preheating of the pipeline, the preheating pressure is maintained between 0.2 to 0.3 MPA, the purpose of doing so is to avoid sudden changes in temperature and pressure caused by seal damage, in determining the stability of the state of the pressure can be adjusted to the required level.
