There are four ways to reduce the opening torque of a valve: optimizing the valve design, choosing the right materials, improving operating conditions, and regular maintenance.

1. Optimizing valve design

Adopt reasonable valve structure design to reduce sealing friction, stem and packing friction, stem and bearing friction and fluid force. For example, the use of elastic sealing structure, optimize the contact area of the valve stem and packing, select the appropriate type of bearing and installation methods.

Reduce the size and weight of the valve, reduce the weight of the spool, stem and other components, thereby reducing the opening torque. Under the premise of meeting the process requirements, you can choose a smaller size of the valve.

2. Selection of suitable materials

Selection of sealing materials, packing materials and bearing materials with small coefficient of friction and good abrasion resistance can reduce sealing friction, stem and packing friction and stem and bearing friction, thus reducing the opening torque.

For high temperature, high pressure and other special working conditions, you can choose high temperature and high pressure resistant materials to ensure the performance and reliability of the valve.

3. Improvement of operating conditions

Reasonable control of the operating frequency and operating speed of the valve, to avoid frequent and rapid operation of the valve, in order to reduce the friction torque of the valve stem and packing and the friction torque of the valve stem and bearing.

Pre-treatment of fluids to reduce the viscosity and density of the fluid and to reduce the resistance of the fluid as it passes through the valve, thereby reducing the opening torque. For example, cooling of high temperature fluids, heating of high viscosity fluids, etc.

4. Regular maintenance

Regular maintenance of the valve, check the sealing performance, packing wear, bearing lubrication, etc., timely replacement of worn parts to ensure the performance and reliability of the valve.

Clean and lubricate the valve to reduce friction and lower the opening torque.
