Description

The foot valve is a one-way valve installed at the foot of the pump suction line to prevent backflow of fluid when the pump stops running. Foot valves play an important role in fluid transfer systems in many industrial and civilian fields, ensuring the normal operation of the pump and the stability of the system.

1. Structure

Foot valve usually consists of valve body, valve flap, valve stem, spring and other components. Valve body is the main part of the valve, usually cast or forged, with internal flow path and valve seat. Valve flap is the key component to control the flow of fluid, generally circular or conical, connected to the spring through the valve stem. The role of the spring is to provide a certain amount of preload when the valve flap is closed, to ensure that the valve flap can closely fit the valve seat to prevent backflow.

2、Working Principle

When the pump starts, the liquid enters the foot valve from the suction pipe, overcomes the resistance of the spring under the action of liquid pressure, pushes the valve flap open, and the liquid enters the pump body through the foot valve smoothly. When the pump stops running, the pressure of liquid backflow acts on the valve flap to close the valve flap, thus preventing the liquid from flowing
